144g half circle
only problem is the stand is wobbly like a mofo, trying to figure out ways to reinforce it, any ideas?
its literally 2x2 particle board for every stud you see
very poor materials i must say.. and to think.. oceanic didnt have a problem putting their logo on it

Very cool tank. I'm not sure about the tank, i mean if i had any dought in my mind that a stand wouldn't hold a 144gal tank with water, sand, and rock then i would probably make a new stand. Thats just my opinion though. I worry a lot :)
well there has been sand/rock/water in it before, its just that its wobbly , the slightest nudge would rock the tank a little
im going to see if its the tile its on, hopefully its level or i'll just shim it and see how it goes from there

That tank has alot of potential, I would just build a new stand if the stand itself is wobbly. Forget about the particle board and use some better materials.
i have 0 craftsmanship abilities, i couldnt cut straight on my saw to save my life lmao,
im thinking about trying to get it leveled with having that foam thing people use to put between the tank and stand, and put it in between the tile and the stand, maybe that will even things out?
anyone tried this with any bad effects?

The foam thing depends on the type of tank. If you do it on the wrong type tank you'll destroy it. I think it has to do with how the tank is braced. Basically if the tank has a frame which raises the bottom glass up you dont want to use the foam.

Beautiful tank. Have you considered contacting Oceanic about the stand?
i dont see what i could say to oceanic, they'll probably just say the particle board will support it
its a new model i doubt they have any "premium brand" stands for this tank

You are local to me, right Toan?
Maybe I can help you out. See my cube thread to see what I've been making.
But I would under no circumstances use that stand if it's that wobbly. No amount of foam or reinforcement will help. You're looking at over 1000 pounds on that stand. And a lot of livestock and water on the floor should it fail.
i'll let you know by this weekend frank, im going to find a place i want this monster and see if its sturdy
if not i might just make a really big rectangle
