Education
Education Program Area |
|||
| The education program area was started in August, 2006 as part of Project DIBS. Our first school experiment was conducted through the Project DIBS discussion forums, but this program area was moved to the Reef Stewardship Foundation in April, 2007.
Our educational efforts are based on best practices suggested in the National Science Education Standards (NSES) and the North American Association for Environmental Education (NAAEE) environmental education standards. The curriculum materials developed by the Foundation are not designed to tell students what to think, but instead are focused on how students can think about the environment. Follow this link for more details on our 2008 International Year of the Reef environmental education study.
